Mushroom Hunting Trenton

We went on a foraging tour last weekend and had a great time. Our guide was super knowledgeable and we found some great mushrooms. We particularly appreciated all the safety tips-we felt comfortable enough to cook and eat our mushrooms at home with our guide’s cooking advice!

Great day out with our guide. We learned so much. I brought my wife and kids with me and we all had a wonderful day.

Our first mushroom foraging event and we had such a great time. Ezra was very kind and shared so much of her knowledge. We definitely feel more comfortable roaming the forest, looking for mushrooms. Such a fun date day too.

So much fun looking for mushrooms. We learned so much! Loved that it wasnt a set hiking trail, we kind of just explored the forest and searched for all kinds of mushrooms. Our guide was super helpful with all our questions. Would definitely recommend this activity to everyone.

This was such a cool class!! Dan was a great guide and super knowledgeable. We found so much shrimp of the woods mushrooms and learned about many others. I’d recommend this for sure :)

As someone who grew up mushroom hunting in Russia, I wanted to learn which mushrooms are common in Pennsylvania and get advice from a local expert. Alex was knowledgeable, approachable, and offered a fresh citizen-science perspective that was very different from the food-focused tradition I grew up with. I learned a lot about mushroom anatomy, identification, field guides, and community resources. The workshop was hands-on, beginner-friendly, and fun.

The only issue was that the meeting pin was inaccurate, and there was no contact information for the instructor, which made finding the group difficult. Other than that, it was an excellent experience, and I'd gladly attend again.

We had a terrific experience learning more about wild mushrooms. Weather was perfect. Duration and distance were just right. I would definitely recommend!

I can not say enough good things about my experience in Redding with Matthew. It was pouring rain, and we still had a great time. He has so much knowledge, and patience’s. Thank you!

Gabrielle was very knowledgeable and easygoing.

Andrea was very knowledgeable about both mushrooms and also plants, shrubs and trees. The tour moved at a lovely pace leaving plenty of time to look, ask questions and learn. Thank you.

We had a great experience with Wyld Forest Mushroom Hunting. Although the weather was a little cold, we had received advance recommendations on how to dress properly, which made the tour much more comfortable.

The tour started right on time and began with a helpful introduction, including book recommendations and guidance on mushroom identification. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about foraging, which made the experience both educational and enjoyable.

As a bonus, we were actually able to find several mushrooms, including morels, which made the outing even more exciting. Overall, it was a unique and fun experience that we would definitely recommend to anyone interested in nature, foraging, or learning more about wild mushrooms. Super recommended!

I had a good time exploring the forest with this group. Sarah, our mushroom hunt leader was very knowledgeable about most of the shrooms and plants dotted across this area. We were able to find several locations of oysters. This was a great intro to mushroom hunting and edible plants. I’d highly recommend this group to anyone looking for more information about locating and identifying forest fungi.

The event surpassed all our expectations…finding and harvesting a large basket of Morels, Golden Oysters and Pheasant tail mushrooms certainly helped us to feel good about our excursion. John was super…well spoken, kind, talkative, and very experienced. He knows the property and he knows the craft. 5 stars+. My watch said we put in over 7000 steps through grassy fields, knolls, and bush. My only suggestion is to, perhaps, place a simple sign near the entrance on the road. Everything worked out but there was some confusion, once on the property, as to where to enter and where to park.

I had a great time! The staff was knowledgeable and it was a lot of fun. Learned lots about the forest and came home with lots of tasty treats.

Didn't get to hunt because the guide had issues but got a refund very easily
