Mushroom Hunting Little Rock

I had a good time exploring the forest with this group. Sarah, our mushroom hunt leader was very knowledgeable about most of the shrooms and plants dotted across this area. We were able to find several locations of oysters. This was a great intro to mushroom hunting and edible plants. I’d highly recommend this group to anyone looking for more information about locating and identifying forest fungi.

The event surpassed all our expectations…finding and harvesting a large basket of Morels, Golden Oysters and Pheasant tail mushrooms certainly helped us to feel good about our excursion. John was super…well spoken, kind, talkative, and very experienced. He knows the property and he knows the craft. 5 stars+. My watch said we put in over 7000 steps through grassy fields, knolls, and bush. My only suggestion is to, perhaps, place a simple sign near the entrance on the road. Everything worked out but there was some confusion, once on the property, as to where to enter and where to park.

I had a great time! The staff was knowledgeable and it was a lot of fun. Learned lots about the forest and came home with lots of tasty treats.

Didn't get to hunt because the guide had issues but got a refund very easily

We had a wonderful day with John, who showed us the forests of North Carolina near Asheville. The best part was gaining invaluable knowledge and understanding of when and how to forage mushrooms.

I had an incredible experience on this foraging walk. What stood out most wasn’t just identifying mushrooms—it was the way the John taught us how to see. He broke things down into structure, patterns, and environment in a way that made everything feel approachable instead of overwhelming.

I really appreciated how he emphasized observation—not just hyper-focusing on a single mushroom, but understanding the entire ecosystem around it. You could tell he has deep knowledge, but also the ability to teach it in a calm, clear, and practical way.

He created such a relaxed, welcoming environment. There was no pressure, just curiosity and learning. I walked away not only with information, but with a completely different way of looking at the forest.

This was more than a walk—it was a genuinely enriching experience. I’d absolutely do it again, especially in another season and with John as my guide.

We enjoyed the mushroom hunt. I learned a lot and saw some cool fungi. Our guide, Chris, was very passionate about the mushrooms and it was an educational trip. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our Group Class on Mushroom Foraging yesterday. Sean is a great Instructor and provided a lot of insight on the Subject - we learned a lot.

very knowledgable, good sense of humor. He introduced the group to many different types of mushrooms, let us explore several areas and then gathered us to tell us what we found. It has been very dry for most of January in Northern CA so I was pleasantly surprised to see the group found a reasonable number of different species. It was a very enjoyable and educational day.

just being amongst the trees and hearing running water would have been enough but on top of it we found so many mushrooms! An experience we'll never forget, thank you!

They are very knowledgeable and personable! I enjoyed the pace of the class; the other participants were fun, and I love the smaller class size. I have participated in different types of foraging adventures, and this class added even more information that I was seeking regarding mushroom identification. I would highly recommend this class to people who want to learn more about identifying and foraging mushrooms.
