What is the Wyldforest?
Here you’ll find our detailed "About Us" article.
The Wyldforest is a community of nature enthusiasts who take guests on trips into the local forests. We’ve been around since 2020, and together we bring people from the city back into nature.
Best regards,Tobias, Fabian, and all the Wyldforest
Can I bring my dog?
Sadly it's not possible to bring dogs to most of our starting locations. We're guests in nature and as such we don't want to disturb local wildlife. Sorry, to your four-legged friends.
How can I reach Wyldforest?
You can reach Wyldforest via email. It's best to send an email to contact@wyldforest.com, and we will try to respond within 48 hours. Please refrain from sending follow-up emails within 3 days, as they only push your message to the top and may delay our response. We do not offer phone support.
How can I reschedule my experience?
Up to 3 days before your experience, you can reschedule it to another date free of charge. In your confirmation email, you’ll find a link to do this yourself. Cancellations are not possible, and rescheduling is not allowed within 3 days of the hike.
Under what circumstances can hikes be canceled?
We do everything we can to ensure our tours go ahead as planned. However, there are cases where hikes may be canceled or rescheduled, and we regret every instance:
- Guide illness: Our guides can fall sick just like anyone else. If they get sick at short notice, we might not be able to find a replacement. We will try to notify you as soon as possible. If the guide calls in sick on the morning of the hike, we may have to cancel the tour at the last minute.
- Danger to life and limb: While we are weatherproof, if the weather poses a risk to health and safety, we will fulfill our responsibility and cancel the hike as soon as the danger becomes apparent. In rare cases, this may happen at the last minute.
- Fewer than 3 participants: Our tours have one of the lowest minimum participant numbers, but we reserve the right to postpone tours with fewer than 3 participants. We aim to notify participants at least 3 days in advance via email. Please make sure you provide the correct email address when booking.
Where does my experience take place?
After booking, you'll receive a booking confirmation with the exact meeting point. A few days before the hike, you will receive an email with additional information, such as useful items to bring.
If this email didn’t arrive, please check your spam folder and make sure your email inbox isn’t full. If the email was lost, we will gladly resend it upon request to contact@wyldforest.com.
How do I book an appointment?
First, choose the location where you would like to hike with us. You’ll find a button labeled “Schedule Your Time”. This will take you to a calendar where you can select your desired date. If there are no available slots in the current month, check next month. We regularly add new dates, so it’s worth checking back often, especially if we’re fully booked.
After selecting your preferred date, you can choose a time (usually 10:00 AM, but sometimes there are afternoon slots at 2:00 PM) and indicate how many tickets you need. From there, you can complete your booking and pay via PayPal, credit card, ApplePay, or one of the other available payment methods.
Can I bring my children?
Of course! Children are always welcome on our experiences. For our hikes, children up to 6 years old are free when accompanied by a paying parent or guardian.
What should I bring to a mushroom hike?
The most important thing is weather-appropriate clothing and shoes that can get dirty. You can also bring a mushroom book and a mushroom knife. If you wish to collect mushrooms at your own risk, we recommend bringing a mushroom basket. It's also a good idea to bring some water and some snacks, as 3 hours in the forest can grow long without proper support.
Can I cancel my booking?
Our hikes cannot be canceled.
We offer the option to reschedule to another date up to 3 days before the experience. According to legal regulations, there is no right of withdrawal for bookings of time-bound experiences.
I can't find the meeting point.
You received the meeting point via email before the experience. This email includes both a street name and a Google Maps location link.
If this email didn’t arrive, please check your spam folder and make sure your email inbox isn’t full. If the email was lost, we will gladly resend it upon request to contact@wyldforest.com.
Help, I’m running late!
Please understand that the group cannot wait for late participants. With some luck, you may still find the group, but it is your responsibility to be on time.
How long does an experience last?
The duration of the event is always specified in the description. You can find it at the top of the product description under the word "Duration."
Currently, you can expect the following times:
- Mushroom Hikes: approx. 3 hours
What if there aren’t enough spots available for a hike?
We typically do not overbook sold-out dates.
If you are a larger group, a private hike may be the best option for you. This allows us to cater more to your personal wishes and offer different dates or times that may not be available online.
All experiences are fully booked, when will new dates be available?
We release new dates for upcoming months every month. However, during peak seasons, we regularly add additional dates whenever possible. So, it’s worth checking back often. If no dates are available at a specific location, it means we are currently fully booked in that area. Try looking for another nearby location. If you’re a group, a private hike might be a good alternative.
An experience did not meet expectations.
We are truly sorry to hear that. As founders, we want to know exactly what happened. Together, we’ll find a solution.
Please send an email to contact@wyldforest.com with the subject line "Complaint."
Rescheduling
Can I reschedule my experience?
You can reschedule your experience for free up to 3 days before the event. There is a link in your confirmation email that allows you to do this yourself.
Cancellations are not possible, and within the three days before the experience, rescheduling is no longer allowed.
Sustainability
How does Wyldforest contribute to a healthy forest?
At Wyldforest, we love the forest, and we pass that love on to our guests. During many of our experiences, we also collect litter to help make the forest a more natural and pristine place. We offset our CO2 footprint by planting trees, and once a year, we support the restoration of our native cultural landscapes. We also take great care to minimize waste and reduce our environmental impact through eco-friendly packaging.
